About Us

It is our desire as members of the body of Christ and the local fellowship, White Horse Christian Center, to have a strong healthy church that meets the needs of those who come, and to equip the body of Christ to do the work of the ministry. The Vision Statement of the church comes from three scriptures, encompassing the Great Commandment and the Great Commission: John 13:35; Mark 12:30-33; Mark 16:15.

Our Vision Statement is:
To love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and love all people as Jesus loved us so the world will know we are His disciples as we go tell all people groups the good news about Jesus.

Our Motto is:
Reaching Our Neighbors (World) with the Love of Jesus

Brief Church History:
Pastor Jeff Johns began pastoring White Horse Christian Center in 1983 (then called Tippecanoe Christian Center). Since that time the church has outgrown several facilities, and in the fall of 2003, purchased and took up residence in the former Cumberland Place Exhibition Center in West Lafayette. This new facility has over 25,000 square feet on the main floor with a sanctuary seating up to 1000, and a Fellowship Hall with seating for approx. 250.The West 3rd youth recreation center is equipped with 3-on-3 basketball, foosball, air hocky, ping-pong, pool table, video games, and a platform with sound and musical equipment. The West 3rd is used by the church middle/high school youth and young adults. Upstairs is over 6,500 sq.ft.of classroom and office space. The church offers classes for all ages on Sunday mornings at 8:30 and Wednesday evenings at 7:00.

The vision of White Horse Christian Center is to promote unity through diversity by growing a strong healthy church family and to equip the body of Christ to do the work of the ministry. The Mission of the church is the Great Commission (Mark 16:15): Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. WHCC is accomplishing this through numerous ministry trips throughout the year; White Horse School of Ministries, an accredited Bible college; nine conferences per year that gather people from all over the United States, Canada, and the world for encouragement and building relationships in the body of Christ.

Flags of every nation hang in the sanctuary, representative of the church’s vision for the nations of the world. Hundreds of short-term mission teams have been sent out from WHCC over the years. Each year the Multi-Ethnic Ministry of the church sponsors various events celebrating the international and diverse cultural community in which we live.

In 2004 White Horse Christian Center added four new pastors to its Pastoral Ministry Staff: Pastors Ignacio & Consuelo Barron and Pastors Bobby & Martha Ruth Kirkley. They join Pastor Johnnie Beard and Pastor Gary Osborne in support of Pastor Jeff Johns, ministering to and leading the church as it continues to grow.

1. The Bible is the divinely-inspired Word of God, and the truth of God to man (II Timothy 3:16).

2. God, the Father, is the eternal Creator (Genesis 1:1; I John 1:3), Sustainer (Hebrews 1:3; II Timothy 4:18) and Judge of His universe (Hebrews 12:23).

3. Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary is the incarnate, only-begotten Son of God. There is no other name given under heaven whereby man can be saved (Acts 4:12).

4. Man was sold into Satan’s bondage through his obedience to the evil one. Jesus Christ, therefore, became the Redeemer by dying on the cross and shedding His precious blood as the ransom price for sinners (Acts 20:28), that whosoever believes in Him has everlasting life (John 3:16).

5. Jesus promised to give His followers the Holy Spirit, who would endue them with power from on high to enable them to be witnesses, beginning at home and reaching unto the uttermost parts of the earth (Luke 24:28; Acts 1:8).

6. Jesus Christ tasted death for all men (Hebrews 2:9) and was raised eternally and victoriously on the third day (I Corinthians 15:3-4). All who believe in Him shall inherit full redemption (Romans 10:9).

7. Knowing this, it behooves His followers to live a holy and pure life in every way as He did, knowing we shall be rewarded and judged according to the deeds done in the flesh (Hebrews 12:14; Matthew 16:27).

8. It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

9. As the followers of Jesus on the Mount of Olives saw Him go, so also shall He return in like manner (Acts 1:11) and every eye shall see Him (Revelation 1:7). Those who rejected Him and pierced Him through shall mourn because of their rejection of Him (Zechariah 12:10). Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord to the glory of God. (Philippians 2:10-11)

10. The saints and faithful shall reign and live with Him (Revelation 22:5). All evil shall be destroyed by the brightness of His coming (II Thessalonians 2:8). The kingdoms of this earth shall become the kingdoms of our God and of His Christ. Of His kingdom there shall be no end (Revelation 11:5; Luke 1:33).
